Corpay is currently looking to hire a Senior Financial Controller within our Finance division in Fleetcor. This role is located in Prague.
In this role, you will be responsible for US GAAP / SOX Controlling, and managing the Statutory P&L and Balance Sheet for all regions within your control. You will also deliver the month-end closing by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with local & US GAAP/IFRS standards, and ensure that robust financial controls and processes are in place.
You will report directly to Head of Financial Controlling, and will regularly collaborate with Financial Controlling team, FPA, and our Accounting teams – GL, AP, and AR - within our Finance Department.
As a Senior Financial Controller you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment (2 days home office vs 3 days in office presence). Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Operational Activities & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support the Head of Controlling with month-end closing (MEC) process for the statutory Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement reconciliation:
Manage activities within defined MEC timelines
Ensure proper accruals and accounting estimates are incorporated
Preparation of the Reporting Pack to FLEETCOR headquarters EOD on WD+5
Prepare variance analysis of Balance Sheet items
• Closely cooperating with Financial Shared Services and the Tax teams to ensure statutory P&L and BS are compliant with Tax/TP regulations, statutory requirements, and accounting standards (local GAAP, US GAAP).
• Support revenue assurance, through a robust reconciliation process between billing systems to ERP, ensuring accurate accounting of all associated Revenue and Cost of Sales items are accurately recorded and accounted for.
• Ensuring general ledgers are maintained accurately through timely account analyses and reconciliations with appropriate supporting documents.
• Establishing strong working relationships with FLEETCOR finance colleagues
• Partner with business effectively to ensure that finance advice is timely and supports the business to navigate accounting requirements enabling strategic outcomes
Audit & Internal Control:
• Ensure monitoring and control mechanisms are fit-for-purpose and aligned to strategic objectives.
• Lead and manage the timely response to all audit queries and working closely with the Audit Leader ensure that audit responses satisfactorily addresses all queries
• Oversee SOX controls for entities within your control
• Responsible for the preparation and delivery of Statutory Accounts for regions in your control
Continuous Improvement:
• Ensure that there are robust business continuity plans, risk management, and continuous improvement plans in place for month-end close process
• Stay updated with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and mitigate Financial, Operational, Anti-bribery, Fraud, and Reputational risks
• Lead and actively contribute towards the continuous program, relative to financial systems and processes
School/University studies in Accounting: A bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting
Approximately 5 years of relevant accounting experience obtained in a large complex organization. To succeed in this role, you will need to have previous working experience in one of the following roles: Financial Controlling, Senior GL Accounting, Head of Accounting.
Experience working in an international environment in a complex organization
Demonstrated experience in working with auditors and preparation of Statutory Financial Reports
Ability to multi-task, ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Highly competent in accounting
Very good in English (written and oral)
Meticulous and strong attention to detail
Deadline-oriented, good time management skills
Flexible, quick learner, positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Positive communication style, and capability of guiding and supporting more junior colleagues from the Accounting team
Knowledge of process and systems improvements is a plus
Knowledge of EU VAT is a plus
Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
