Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead our end-to-end billing and revenue cycle strategy. This role will include leading a team of specialists and partnering with our operations and engineering teams to manage and improve processes that drive revenue collection. The Director of RCM oversees Revenue Cycle Systems and processes, ensuring effective management of billing, claims, and patient fee reporting while coordinating operations and leading the team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director of RCM plays a critical role in the health of the organization.
Salary: $120,000-$140,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates Revenue Cycle Systems, Processes, and reporting/analysis for all claims
- Define strategic objectives, work closely with internal stakeholders and revenue cycle business partners to evaluate and analyze existing systems and processes, and implement improvements that support revenue cycle goals.
- Completes all regulatory and company documentation and reporting in accordance with established and /or required schedules.
- Respond to inquiries related to insurance billing concerns, collection law and insurance protocol escalated by billing team staff.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state legal requirements by researching existing and accessing new legislation and by consulting with outside advisors.
- Ensures effective management of Quality Control/Data Entry, Patient billing and Claims processing, and Payment activities.
- Utilize data to analyze trends in denials; identify root causes and implement timely corrective actions.
- Develop and lead our team of billing specialists ensuring a high performing and metrics driven culture.
- Ongoing review and improvement RCM workflows and policies to reduce denials.
- Establish and own RCM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to increase profitability and drive performance optimization, including days in AR, clean claim rates, denial rate, and collection effectiveness
Qualifications:
- At least 7+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role. Must have direct team management responsibility.
- Experience using Xifin RPM systems a plus.
- Knowledge of EHR programs, Medical Terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and coding processes.
- Demonstrated success in improving RCM processes.
- Thorough understanding of healthcare reimbursement and denial management processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead process improvement projects.
